Even being lost in the crowd I’m still different and free from all chaos of the world. I have my different world of myself, my wanderers friends, gusty Sahyadri winds, and my camera… a different chemistry altogether.
म्हणजेच… आगळीच दुनिया आहे माझी…माझी भटकी टोळी (जगाच्या झगमगाटापासुन दूर, आपली वाट शोधणारी भटकी टोळी…), त्यातले मित्र, सह्याद्रीचा रानवारा अनि माझा camera मिळून एक रसायन बनलय…त्याचे नाव आहे: पंकज

रोजच्या मीठ-भाकरी साठी संगणकाचा माऊस पुढे-मागे फिरवतो. बाकी सगळ्या गप्पा फोटो आणि ब्लॉगमधून होतीलच..
Middleware expert by profession, a
passionate photographer and an avid traveler by choice. Trekking and
traveling are my prime hobbies. I have found out a unique way of
relieving stress on weekends, away from the world of AC and the PC.
Proudly born and brought up in Maharashtra – the land of the mighty
Sahyadri ranges, with abundance of offbeat trek routes, the land having a
glorious history of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and land of more than
370 forts jewels. I have completed more than 60 treks and bike journeys
overing almost 1,00,000km on the untrodden paths in Sahyadri and the
Konkan region, encompassing almost every corner of the western
Maharashtra region. I have also completed a couple of coastal bike
prowls of 1200kms each. I have explored almost the entire coastline of
Maharashtra from Vasai to South Goa.
Photography as a hobby:
I have taken no formal education in photography, it came along with extensive traveling and trekking. It started with a point and shoot film camera nine years back, after which i shifted to a digital Kodak 3MP camera, then bought a couple of digital SLR bodies. After going through the different lenses available today, each having a unique optics technology, I have settled with 4 lenses appropriate for my work and couple of macro filters in my arsenal. Landscape photography is my most favorite genre followed by portrait and macro photography. Photography as a serious hobby started 4 years back with the purchase of a SLR camera and since then I have been learning continuously from my friends and fellow photographers from my group called Photographers@Pune. I strongly believe that learning is an endless journey and I keep on improving myself as and when possible.

I have been one of the official photographers for some unique events across Pune, like Vasantotsav, Pune Motocross Racing, Sakaal’s 1000smiles project and many more. I have been official photography competition judge for the Bhararti Vidyapeeth’s Intsiture of Management and Research. I am closely involved in running the largest passionate photography enthusiasts’ group of Pune having 2300 members, called Photographers@Pune and judge the photo entries for their annual exhibitions “Drushtikon” for successive three years. I have had the privilege to write a weekly travel article for a leading Marathi newspaper, ‘Sakaal’. I am also involved in managing a common platform especially for Marathi bloggers , called MarathiMandali.com. I also participated in the Bloggers Copyright conference conducted recently by the ‘Sakaal’ media group. I am also one of the awardees for the best blog in Star Maza’s Blog Maza competition.

3) Travel, Travel and Travel. Shoot, Shoot and Shoot. Love to travel a lot and do photography. I am always ready for an extra efforts good photographs. I do maintain a photo-travel blog.
4) I have learn a lot after I joined my active photography group Photographers@Pune. I do praise few my photographers friends for their specialties. Suhas, Soumitra, G-Kiran, Swati, Dolly, Deepak, OW, Amit, Chaitanya, Dhruva are few streams, I regularly follow to learn. Each has its own specialty.
5) Foodie: Yes I'm. I (can) eat veg food too :-)) I love chicken, mutton, fish with any suffix, prefix and no fix. I love to discover new food joints in and around city and recommend those to friends.
6)Family: I am complete family centric and love my family very much. I can share literally everything with my Mom cum friend.
7) Friends: I have a group of very close 8 friends. We call ourselves as Octagon. We meet over the weekend with cell phones switched off for at least half an hour.
8) Movies: Do not really love to watch. But fan of Kamal Hasan, Amir Khan, Smita Patil. Anand, Arth, DCH. Kuchh Kuchh Hota Hai can be listed here, but I hate SRK.
9) Music: I an fan of old Hindi songs from 60s, 70s and 80s. I do not (rather almost never) listen new ones. I cannot listen Angrezi dhink-chyak. Though I do not understand classical but I love to listen.
10) Sports: I play volleyball reasonably good. Can play in centre as well as net positions. I love cricket in its pure (Test cricket) and semi-pure (ODIs) form. I hate T20. Jonty Rhodes, Hansie Cronje, Azhar, Sachin Tendulkar, Yuvi, Bhajji, Muralitharan, Wasim Akram are favs.
11) Reading: All time great Marathi Novels mainly historic portraiture.
12) Influence: I'm influenced by my father and personalities Chhatrapati Shivaji & Bose.
13) The place which I love the most is Raigad. I have never seen more beautiful sunset than that from Raigad. I do regular trips to Raigad like pilgrimage.
14) Biking I have done close to 40,000 kilometers of journey on bikes and always love to go on bike trails, test myself to the extremities, take calculated risks, do adventure stuff more often. I do get bored in city life.
15) As few people know I am COMMITTED.
16) I cannot live without my cellphone. I spend more on SMS than voice calls. I hate missed calls.

हा काय एका हातात आहे. एका हाताने SMS टाईप करतोय आणि दुसऱ्या हाताने ही पोस्ट. कॉलपेक्षा SMSवर जास्त खर्च करतो मी. लगेच उत्तर अपेक्षित नसेल तर हाताशी असलेली SMSची सोय मला जाम आवडते.

कालच कापलेत हो. खूप पांढरे पण दिसू लागलेत (चंदेरी केसांचा राजपुत्र). कालच मेंदी लावली. पण एकदम पक्के आहेत. गळायचे सोडा पण ओढले तरी हाती काही लागणार नाही.
3.Your mother?
माझ्यासाठी सर्वकाही.
4.Your father?
माझा सगळ्यात चांगला मित्र होता. I miss you Pappa.
5.Your favorite food?
चिकन / मटन / मासे with any suffix, prefix or no fix. पण तसे बरेच काही खाल्लेले आहे.
6.Your dream last night?
आमच्या तायडीचे लग्न.
7.Your favorite drink?
चहा.

सर्व-समाधानी आयुष्य.

ऑफिस.

हे काय सांगायला पाहिजे? अर्थातच फोटोग्राफी, ट्रेक्स, भटकंती, बाईक राईड्स.

एक दिवस सगळे ट्रेक्स बंद होणार. लग्न झाल्यावर माणूस हिट विकेट आऊट होतो ना.

मन व्हेज ठेवले की कुणी आपल्या खाण्याची काळजी करत नाही. अजून तरी तीर्थप्राशन करीत नाही. त्यामुळे माझ्या नॉनव्हेज खाण्याच्या सवयीचे काही टेन्शन नाही घरी, अणि ’ती’ला तर नाहीच. फार भारी बनवते ती नॉनव्हेज. आणि आयटी’त मजा करता येते अशा गैरसमजातून बाहेर ये लेका.
बाय द वे, जे लिवायचं होतं त्येच लिव्हलं हाय. काळजी नसावी.

ReplyDeleteआत्ता वाचलं. स्वत:बद्दल मस्त माहिती दिलीयंस रे. इंग्रजी संगीत मलाही पूर्वी फार आवडायचं नाही पण नव-याचं क्लासिक कलेक्शन पाहिलं तेव्हा खरं संगीत कळलं. तुझी फोटोग्राफी तर छान आहेच. लेखनही इंटरेस्टींग!

SMS टाईप करायचा मला कधी(च) कंटाळा आला नाही. आधी साधा non-QWERTY कीपॅडवाला मोबाईल होता तेव्हाही नाही, आणि आता तर QWERTY कीबोर्डने अजून सोय होते.
अगदी अर्जंट उत्तर/प्रतिसाद अपेक्षित नसेल तर SMS ची सोय सगळ्यात बेश्ट. कुणाला डिस्टर्ब पण होत नाही. आणि त्याच्या सवडीने उत्तर देण्याची मुभा पण. माझा कॉलपेक्षा SMS चे बिल जास्त येते :-)

ReplyDeleteई सकाळ वाचता वाचता ईथे पोहोचलो. आता नियमीत वाचत जाईन. औफिस च्या बाहेरची पाखरं पाहुन देखील ज्याचा टाईमपास होतो, तो "non-veg" कसा काय खाउ शकतो? Be vaggi, पाखरं बघताना जास्त मजा येइल. ह्या वर्षी गणपती नंतर च्या रविवारी secrete lake ला नक्की जाऊन येइन. आम्ही सर्व भाउबहिणी कुटूंबा सह दर वर्षी एक रात्र एकत्र जमतो. साधारणत: १०-१२ कुटूंब, मुलांसह ३१-३५ जण. पिंप्री गावात राहाण्याची काही सोय असल्यास ह्यावर्षी तिथे जाउन सुर्योदय प्रत्यक्ष बघता येइल. अथवा दुसरे एखादे ठिकाण ’जिथे रहायची सोय होऊ शकेल असे’ सुचवावे. मला पण ट्रेक ची आवड आहे. आता (वय वर्षे ४६) कामांमुळे नियमीत जमत नाही. पण तरिही वर्षातून २-३ वेळा जातो. पुण्या जवळचे सगळे ट्रेक्स झालेत, रायगड, राजगड, कत्रज-सिंहगड, कोकणकडा, तोरणा, ईत्यादी... काही नवीन ठिकाण असल्यास क्रुपया कळवा. ceng_ashok@yahoo.com

ReplyDeleteToday I read your blogs and really loved to know you, your hobbies, your treks and 'your' people. Found some similarities over here, mentioning this.
1) You born on 26 Jan 1981, I ten days ago.
2) You love photography, biking and exploring new areas, I would like to do same. But really admire the photographs you have taken.
3) The comparision and stats you calculated for petrol and diesel cars, I performed the same while taking mine. Ended up in buying petro + lpg.
4) You are an IT professional, same here for bread and butter only.
5) You make plans different from normal like celebrating year end etc. I do have those kind of plans.

Continue posting such blogs, but one thing, in my mind is, you publish all these blogs that's okay. But some times I get afraid that after reading this kind of good information the people who just go to various places for enjoyment ("khalachya" darjachi) should not spoil those places. I wish the places explored by you will remain untouched from such people.

I have also travelled like hale..visited around 50 forts, covered kokan coast of around 1100km twice from Alibaug to Goa...But from last one and half year I am missing those adventures....and planning to restart it.
Please let me know regarding your next adventure trip...or just send me SMS(as you like it...)I will definatly come with you...

मी व आमच्या काही सहकार्यांनी मिळून मराठी ब्लॉगर्सना एकत्र करण्याचा नवा उपक्रम सुरू केला आहे.(केवळ ब्लॉगर्स असे नाही तर कोणीही join होऊ शकतो.) त्याला आम्ही “मराठी कॉर्नर” असे नाव दिले आहे. कॉर्नर का तर आम्ही मराठी म्हणून इतर भाषांचा तिरस्कार करत नाही हे दाखवायचे आहे. कारण जर स्वतःच्या आईचा मान राखत असू तर म्हणून दुस~याच्या आईचा अपमान करणे ही महाराष्ट्राची संस्कृती नाही. असो, मुळ मुद्दा असा की मी आपल्याला मराठी कॉर्नरवर येण्याचे निमंत्रण देत आहे. आपल्या येण्याने निश्चितच आम्हाला आनंद होईल. आत्ता पर्यंत जवळ जवळ ६० ब्लॉगर्स जोडले गेले आहेत आणि हळू हळू का होईना पण विविध विषय मांडले जात आहेत. आपणही जरूर यावे व आपले विचार इतर ब्लॉगर्सशी मांडावेत ही आमची ईच्छा!
आशा आहे आपण आमच्या निमंत्रणाला मान देऊन मराठी कॉर्नरच्या परिवारात सामिल व्हाल.
